
On behalf of "oppressed bugs everywhere," an inventive ant named Flik hires a troupe of warrior bugs to defend his bustling colony from a horde of freeloading grasshoppers led by the evil-minded Hopper.
Pixar's second feature got overshadowed by Toy Story but holds up as a tight underdog story with character design that rewards repeat viewings (Heimlich, Francis, the trapeze twins). The two end-credits blooper reels were a Pixar invention and remain charming twenty-five years later. G at 95 minutes; safe for any age and one of the best entry points to the studio for kids 5+.
